Non-3GPP Access

The 3GPP AAA Server function is provided by the SigScale OCS product. This works standalone or in conjunction with a mobile network operator’s Home Subscriber Server (HSS).

Trusted WLAN Access

A trusted WLAN (Wi-Fi) access network (TWAN) is one which is managed by a mobile network operator and is considered secure. The TWAN provides an equivalent alternative access network to E-UTRAN (LTE).

Untrusted WLAN Access

An untrusted WLAN (Wi-Fi) access network is one which is external to the mobile network operator’s administration domain such as home or public access points.

WLAN Direct

Wi-Fi access points supporting WPA2-Enterprise may directly connect using RADIUS.
